True, the kindness shown by Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) brought smiles on the face of 86 year old woman, who had gone to city police commissioner\u2019s office to meet the DCP in connection with a complaint.<br \/>\nOctogenarian Rangammal, a resident of RS Puram neighbourhood was aggrieved in not getting back her pledged jewels. And she decided to knock at the doors of city police commissioner to get her grievance redressed. Since the DCP\u2019s office was located on the first floor, the elderly woman expressed her inability to climb the stairs which was informed to DCP by the woman constable handling the reception counter.<br \/>\nNo sooner, the DCP Balaji Saravanan came down all the way to meet the old woman near the reception counter and received the petition and assured to take action. And he directed the RS Puram police station head to look into the complaint and the pledged jewels returned to her.
