The fondness of homemade food goes back to the times when joint families existed. Many of us dreaded for a trip to our natives with the sole aim of relishing our grandmother’s food. Whether it was those mouth-watering mango pickles or the spice blended rasam, our grandmothers were experts in all our favourite kinds! And that is just what ‘Granny’s Kitchen’ brings to Coimbatoreans. With the advent of pasta and pizzas restaurants nowadays replacing Indian cuisines in the city, ‘Granny’s Kitchen’ reassures the value of traditional home cooking and also aiding people to celebrate it.
Started by Arun Kumar and his spouse Latha, ‘Granny’s Kitchen’ located in R.S Puram, provides unadulterated and preservative-free homely food prepared through hygienic methods.
Being ardent foodies, Arun and Latha’s travel for good food inspired them to open the joint. After being a part of the corporate life for 18 years, they desired to fulfil their passion by doing what they have always loved – Food and cuisines. “Latha prepares the food and that is why we have named the restaurant Granny’s Kitchen as that would convey a personalised touch,” said Arun Kumar. What makes the restaurant stand out is that they specialise in serving food with a blend of natural handmade spices gifting customers nostalgia by means of conventional cooking.
Currently serving exquisite signature chaat items like Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri (made with mineral water), Dahi Puri, Sev puri, Samosa chaat, Ragda patties and authentic south-Indian breakfast items like Idli, Appam and Chapatti, this food joint has everything that helps people experience simple pleasures of a wholesome healthy meal.
With a vision of expanding its business across India, Granny’s Kitchen will also be launching their tiffin and lunch menu soon!
