Penning Books Is Dr K Vijayakarthikeyan’s Passion

Latest In The Series Is ‘Once Upon An Ias Exam’

So goes the inspiring quote of USA Today’s best selling author Elizabeth Reyes– “I write because I must. It’s not a choice or a pastime, it’s an unyielding calling and my passion”. True to this, Coimbatore Corporation’s youngest Commissioner Dr K Vijayakarthikeyan has been juggling between his profession and passion. Yes, the young IAS officer developed an interest for reading books writing right from his childhood days to turn to penning books.

In a freewheeling chat with this scribe, he dwelt at length how writing gave him some positive changes in him besides getting destressed from his daily routine of chairing review meetings, going thru’ files and conducting field inspections.  No denying the fact that browsing thru’ books gave him not only a relaxation, but lots of info.

Shedding light on his latest release ‘Once Upon an IAS Exam’, he said that this book is nothing but the experience he gained while preparing for the civil service exams and added that he had narrated in a story format with some interesting sequences similar to cinematic style.

And the hero of this story is 25 year old Vishy, who struggled to clear the civil services and the heroine Rithika being very supportive to him in his IAS dream. Facing a failure, he puts up a brave face all because of the encouraging words of his best friend Rithika. There are many twists and turns to the story with lots of emotions and love revolving around 12 bosom friends.

“I had given in detail about the struggles of civil service aspirants and their life at coaching centres busy preparing for the exams,” he said adding that the sequences for the story centers around Chennai Anna Nagar where IAS coaching centres are located. Moreover, the story has been presented in a jovial way.

Like the proverbial ‘All is well that ends well’, the story ends with Vishy clearing IAS and marrying Rithika.

Before winding up, Dr Vijayakarthikeyan drove home the point that this book isn’t just for civil service aspirants, but its for all.

Notably, director AR Murugadoss launched the book cover at a function while the book was released on Saturday at Brookfield Mall. The book is available on Amazon.in and thinkink.in. The author to his credit three other books in Tamil–Ettum Thoorathil IAS, Athuvum Ithuvum and Orey Kallil 13 Mangai.
