BUILDMAT 2019 Expo @ CODISSIA Aims At Affordable Housing

Affordable housing the buzzword for BUILDMAT 2019 which is planned to be held from February 14 to 17 at CODISSIA trade fair complex.
And the expo is being promoted jointly by Indian Institute of Architects, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (I), Builders Association of India.
According to P Arun Prasad, chairman BUILDMAT 2019, this is the ninth biannual fair, which has received patronage of the construction industry players by mobilizing over 447 out of the 585 stalls as of now.
Moreover, about ten industry leaders are sponsoring the event and 15 prestigious construction industry organizations are supporting the Fair.
The BUILDMAT 2019 will have stalls of more than 500 from 220 stalls in 2003 almost three times in 15 years signifying the growing patronage of the construction industry in this part of the country. The exhibitors include both national and international players in the industry.
The theme of focus for BUILDMAT 2019 is ‘Affordable Housing’. The scale of shortage of housing stood at roughly 10 million houses in urban areas and 43 million houses in rural areas as per the data from the 12th Five Year Plan.
In light of this, discussions have begun within the industry about the government of Indias’ Housing for All scheme, named Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
For this purpose, Hall E of the CODISSIA Complex has been dedicated for Affordable Housing. Entry to Hall E will be free for all, on all 4 days of the exhibition.
The exhibitors will display affordable construction materials, systems, technologies and real estate projects. The hall E has 114 stalls.
A seminar on affordable construction technologies and materials will be held during BuildMat 2019 at Hotel Residency Ball Room on 15 & 16 February 2019 at 4.30pm.
And the seminar will be covering the progress of Affordable Housing technologies from around the world. We will be having International and Indian speakers share with us their experiences in this area of work and also on the ideas and formulation of mass housing.
