Kovai Gets New Collector, Corporation Commissioner

It’s change of guard at Coimbatore collectorate as K Rajamani assumed charge as the new collector besides Sravan Kumar Jatavath took over as Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer.
Efforts will be made to redress the grievances of people within a fortnight on receiving the petitions at the weekly grievances meet on every Monday, said the new district collector K Rajamani.
After assuming charge as the new head for Coimbatore district, he said that though Coimbatore is an industry developed district with all basic necessities to the people priority will be given for public grievances and added that more emphasis will be given for implementing government schemes among the public.
He went on to say that enumeration in identifying unorganised sector daily wage earners is going on in full swing in the district and added that those workers will be given Rs.2000 to enhance their livelihood. Regular grievance meetings for ex-servicemen welfare, farmers, differently-abled and pensioners will be held and action will be initiated to redress them.
A native of Vathagounden Valasu village in Palani taluk, Dindigul district, Rajamani joined the Tamil Nadu service thru’ TNPSC and served as BDO and Assistant Project Officer in various districts. This scribe met him when he was APO, DRDA in Theni district in 1997. He later served as DRDA project officer in some districts and was elevated as Additional Director, DRDA on Chennai and obtained his conferred IAS in 2016 to serve as sub collector Dharapuram and later Tuticorin Corporation Commissioner. Before assuming charge in Coimbatore, he was District Collector Tiruchi.
And it’s again a young Commissioner for Coimbatore Corporation with Sravankumar Jatavath assuming charge. He was earlier Sub Collector, Tirupur district.
A 2014 batch IAS officer, Sravankumar, native of Telangana was Assistant Collector, Tiruchi and later Central Urban Development Ministry joint secretary.
Young and energetic, Sravankumar yearns to make Coimbatore Corporation as Numero Uno corporation in the country.
Later speaking to media persons, he said that action will be taken on public grievances and assured to beauty Coimbatore and added that priority will be given to drinking water and sanitation. Corporation engineer Lakshmanan, Executive engineer schemes Ravichandran and all Assistant Commissioners were present on the occasion.
