In A First, Sportalympics Event For Pre-School And Primary Kids

Sportybeans is a multi-sports skills development program which introduces pre-school and primary school children between the ages of 3.5 to 9 years to the concepts and skills involved in the nine core sports of the Sportybeans curriculum. The nine core ball sports are baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, hockey, cricket, rugby, tennis and volleyball in social, non-competitive team setting. They organised an event exclusively for this age criteria in Coimbatore by conducting preliminaries in 8 different schools across the city. Age appropriate games were conducted for children of different age groups. Children who secured first three places in all these schools were made to participate in the Sportalympics, an inter-school sports event.
Around 225 students participated in Sportalympics on 17th February at Prakriya International School in Ramanathapuram. Prizes were distributed to all the winners by Chief Guest Aishwarya Rao, Correspondent of Prakriya International School.
The schools which secured the top three places are Kangaroo Kids, PSBB Millennium and Dr. NGP school respectively.
Sportybeans also conducts regular classes for children of these age group in three centres in R.S Puram, Trichy Road and Peelamedu where they are introduced to age appropriate games and sport equipment.
Instilling active lifestyle at an early age will improve the future lifestyle of the child and will also help imbibing very valuable qualities like listening, sharing and taking turns at an early age.
