In A First, Children’s Literary Fest ‘Bookalatta’

Coimbatore is all set to experience their first ever children’s literary festival through Kovai Bookalatta, a one of kind festival that enables children to get into the world of their favourite stories.
The literary festival will be held on July 6 and 7 from 10am to 4pm at Suburban High School, Ramnagar as part of their centenary celebrations. The two day extravaganza will be graced by nationally acclaimed authors, story tellers, illustrators, musicians and poets. On July 6, the event will be exclusively dedicated to school children and on 7th it will be opened to the public.
Kovai bookalatta is organised by Subodh and Lakshmi, the founders of Atta Galatta, a bookstore and event space organisation, that aids children in bringing out their love for books and giving them opportunities to learn from workshops and sessions.
The 1st edition of KOVAI BOOKALATTA festival will witness personalities like Author Paro Anand, Storyteller Ameen Haque, Janaki Sabesh, Young adult writer Andaleeb Wajid, Nandita Bose, Trupti Srikanth, Aparna Jaishankar, Shylaja Sampath, Leon James, poet Sourav Roy, Vani Mahesh and many others.
There will also be incredible participation and performances from the children of Coimbatore, along with events planned by the enthusiastic team of Amar Chitra Katha, stalls, games and more.
Since its inception 7 years ago, the bookstore has hosted over 1200 events, including book launches, poetry readings, theatre performances, art shows, screenings, storytelling sessions and workshops.
The bookstore has partnered with festivals such as the Bangalore Literature Festival and the Lekhana Writers Festival as the official bookstore.
