Coronavirus Testing Lab Opened At CMCH

District Collector K Rajamani inaugurated molecular lab for testing Coronavirus at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). It may be noted that the blood samples collected from suspected persons for Coronavirus were sent to Chennai. Now that a lab has been opened at CMCH wherein the blood samples will be tested here and follow up will be initiated based on the reports. CMCH dean Dr Asokan was also present at the event.
Meanwhile, monitoring centre has been opened near Coimbatore airport at Teja Shakthi college campus where a 50 bed facility with round the clock medical officers and paramedical staff have been deployed to screen passengers for Coronavirus and to monitor them after isolating them for 14 days. A five member medical team will be at the monitoring centre. Special isolation wards have been set up Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, ESI Medical college hospital and all private hospitals across the city. Those with cold, cough and fever can approach any government hospitals and treatment.
