Inaugurates Maha Shivratri Fete @ Isha Yoga Centre

Joy knew no bounds for devotees as they chanted hyms of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ in praise of Lord Shiva at the annual Maha Shivratri fete which was celebrated with great zeal and zest at Isha Yoga Centre located in the sylvan locales at the foothills of Vellingiri Hills near Siruvani on the outskirts of the city.
Its was a cultural extravaganza of music, dance, meditation and sound and light show at the spacious grounds of Isha Yoga Centre.
Devotees including leading luminaries and celebrities from the tinsel town from nook and corner of the country besides foreign nations descended on the bustling spiritual centre of Isha Yoga for Maha Shivrati celebrations.
Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the Maha Shivratri fete at the Isha Foundation in the presence of Sadhguru Jakki Vasudev.
Calling for peaceful and oneness, he said, “We may speak different languages, wear a different costume and pray to different Gods.
But regardless of this diversity, we are, culturally, one and that is India. This feeling of Indianness has to be there in all. Peace is the prerequisite of progress for any nation.
As Indians, we belong to a culture that sees the whole world as a family and no civilization other than our Indian civilization speaks about it.
We want the wellbeing of everybody and we do not discriminate anybody since our aim is to live in peace and harmony”.
In view of the fete, a cattle show was organised at the venue wherein 23 indigenous breeds of cows and bulls were exhibited.
Some of these breeds include Kangayam, Gir, Ongole, Umbalacheri, Kangrich. Sadhguru also performed special pujas in front of 112 foot Adiyogi statue even when the devotees from different culture and tradition drawn from different States worshipped.
And the Maha Shivratri fete was telecast live by selected television channels from 6pm to 6am.
Special buses were operated from Gandhipuram to Isha Yoga Centre in view of Maha Shivratri fete.
